The Globe theatre

The Globe Theatre was built 1599. The project was organised by Lord Chamberlain's men - the company which Shakespeare was a member of and soon it stood on the south banc of Thames (river that passes through London). The theatre was opened for everyone  - from aristocrates and merchants to groundlings.

It was very popular as the visitors could dream away from their ordinary lives and join the amazing fantasyworld. The visit was cheap 1 penning or more depending on the wanted comfort.
